The SociGO party that was held in Cape Town was supported by Park Inn Newlands and DeafSA during Deaf Awareness month, which is the most important month for the Deaf in South Africa. The party was aimed to raise funds for our Izingane festival for the Deaf schools and for the Hands Fest in Cape Town. This was also designed to provide an opportunity to encourage those beautiful local hidden artistic skills such as signer-poet DJs etc., who are members of our Deaf community.
The SociGO party certainly gave them an opportunity to present their skills and talent on the stage to the Deaf community. It also built confidence in their artistic capability. Also invited were the National Director Bruno Druchen and Wilma Newhoudt-Druchen, who is a Member of parliament, together with our very own GDAF executive directors Kavita Pipalia and David de Keyzer to join us, which gave us the opportunity of proudly showing off our South African artistic skills.
Over 100 people came to the party to celebrate with us and enjoy our 5 unique performances given by the people of Cape Town.
