"May the dreams of our youth be the reality of their future!"
Video Transcript:
Hello! My name is Elizabeth. I would like to talk about 16 June today. Every year South Africa celebrates, remembers and respects Youth Day. On 16 June 1976, school children fought for their educational rights in Soweto. Therefore, Youth Day is remembered by South Africans every year. The children in 1976 fought for better education, bringing good education for you all today. SociGO would like to remind you all to remember, pay respect and celebrate Youth Day. We all are responsible for encouraging better Deaf education, arts and culture in Deaf schools.

We celebrate Nelson Mandela International Day every year to shine light on the legacy of a man who changed the 20th century and helped shape the 21st.
This is a moment for all of us to renew with the values that inspired Nelson Mandela forever...
SociGO's Team signing in Madiba's quotes (SASL)
Elizabeth Sidlai -
"No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate and if they can learn to hate they can be taught to love for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
Saroh Ajam -
"A winner is a dreamer who never gives up"
Jabaar Mohamed -
“We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in your hands to make a difference.”
Jean-Claude Smit -
"Do not judge me by successes, judge me by how many I fell down and got back up again."
Luzandre van der Berg -
"I never lose. I either win or learn"
Anesh Magan -
“A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.”
John West -
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Chandi Udith-Moodley -
"If you want the cooperation of humans around you, you must make them feel they are important and you do that by being genuine and humble."
Faheem Karodia -
"Without education, your children can never really meet the challenges
they will face. So it's very important to give children education and explain
that they should play a role for their country."
Wendy Contessa Dirks -
"Give a child love, laughter and peace"
Tshepiso Malete -
"I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one's head pointed towards the sun, one's feet moving forward"

We were given an opportunity to promote SociGO and our country in France for the World Congress of the Deaf in Paris, France. This conference only takes place every 4 years so it is wonderful platform to market our organisation. Many people came to out booth and express their interested to be part of our festival as well we inspired them with what we have done to our kids in South Africa.
SociGO also went to watch many presentations that took place at the congress and we made sure that we share what we have learnt back to South African Deaf Community. It gave us a recognition to be on the international platform. We also met lots of shareholder, well known people and had a great opportunity to have some networking formed with the people from worldwide. Our name was on the hand of the Deaf's all over the world.
4th - 7th July 2019
Our SociGO Founders had the opportunity to work as a volunteer in Reims, France at Clin d’Oeil the famous festival of the Deaf in Europe to which it takes place every 2 years.
This encourage and motivate the founders to learn and understand on how to plan and host the festival better in South Africa. This was a perfect platform to have the opportunity to share what South Africa is all about and what we have and where we need support from, they were merely exposed our county and organisation on an international platform and the Deaf people who came from all over the world.
We also had a chance to meet well know Deaf entrepreneur and how they have inspired to support each other on business level which is really inspiring to meet them and knowing that we can bring the changes back and a chance to implement to South Africa from learning by attending this festival. it is highly recommended that every person to attend this festival once or more in your lifetime.

SociGO founders made delicious cake for the SociGO Team of Johannesburg. We want to use this opportunity to thank them for their hard work and everything that they have done in 2018 for Izingane Festival and Hands Fest. We couldn’t have done it without them.
We also had the chance to provide feedback on SociGO’s 2019, as well as the plan we have for Cape Town, which is an exciting project for all of us. We extend a big thank to our amazing team and we hope they will inspire more volunteers from all over to become part of the team, so that everyone can have the chance to be in the amazing team as a volunteers.
